Hi! I’m Stacy,
I’m the face behind this blog (BrownSouthernLiving.com) and BrownSouthernFarm.com. I’m so happy you came to my little corner of the world wide web.
I am passionate in helping others transition to a homesteading lifestyle no matter where you live. I truly believe that a homesteading lifestyle is the way to a healthy life. Just read some labels of products you currently buy. Can you pronounce some of those words listed in the ingredient list? and What the heck is carrageenan? Is it harmful? Did you know that some of these chemicals blocks nutrients from absorbing in your body? Many of us are vitamin and mineral deficient today. These deficiencies inhibit our body to heal itself or causes more illness to systems. These are the things that led me to believe that I must grow my own food and make everything from scratch. I can’t trust the ingredient lists anymore. Don’t even get me started on the marketing tactics of “organic” or “All natural.” How about our soil, water, air? It’s all contaminated somehow.
It’s been a long journey for us. We started back in 2016, when we moved 10 hours south for a “better” lifestyle. It took us awhile to realize that location didn’t matter. It was about actively living a lifestyle that we wanted. We were stressed, run down, unhealthy, living paycheck to paycheck, and living on the hamster wheel of modern societies influence. We were stuck in conformity and living the way modern society wants us to live. It was time to change.
It’s a viscous cycle that we fight to break everyday. We eat unhealthy or heavily processed foods, then we rely on medical industry to help us heal. Despite medications are chemically made, they are too contributing to the unhealthy life. Don’t get me wrong, I think there is a time and place for prescription medications. Today, one could take 5-15 types of medications, which all of side effects. It’s just too much for the already weakened body. On top of that, we are relying on stores to supply us with food and our employers to give us a paycheck. Well, if the last few years hadn’t taught us anything, we are now prepared and live with abundance of food and income from our homestead. We are not extravagant people.
Life should be enjoyable. You only get one life, might as well make it the best life and most fulfilling. I would love the opportunity to help you to a healthier lifestyle.
